What kinds of flexible PCB board are used for LED strip? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

LED lamp belt, also known as flexible LED lamp belt, the use of flexible circuit board, soft and smart, bending resistance, flexibility is very high, widely used in the production of linear lighting products such as lamp belt.

Flexible circuit board commonly used types:

1. The single panel

There are four main types of flexible circuit boards.

Advantages of flexible circuit board:

2. FPC can greatly reduce the size and weight of electronic products

3.FPC also has good heat dissipation and weldability, and is easy to assemble and connect, with low overall cost

Disadvantages of flexible circuit board:

1. High one-time initial cost

Because flexible PCB boards are designed for special applications, the cost of circuit design, wiring and photographic backplates is high unless there is a special need for flexible PCB boards

2. It is difficult to change and repair soft PCB

Once the soft PCB board is made, it is not easy to change because it must start from the base drawing or the programmed light drawing program.  Its surface is covered with a protective film, which must be removed before repair and restored after repair, which is more difficult work.

3. Limited size

Soft PCB circuit board is not popular in the case of intermittent process manufacturing, so it is limited by the size of the production equipment, can not be made very long, very wide.

4. Improper operation is easy to damage.
